Daily Devotionals 10/16

Waiting on Gods timing can sure be difficult…

Do I do what He tells me to do now or wait, what about this job opportunity, baby, impending project? Are the delays sometimes good or bad? I think they can be both in our minds, but our minds are all HUMAN nature of thinking, selfish, and we want to think that if God said “now” well by golly it’s a now and to be done in a hurry…. but running to go and do what He has asked us to do doesn’t mean it’ll be smooth, things are going to get in the way and hints are going to happen. All in good time, Gods timing that is, it will be transformed for us! Don’t let the rush of daily life get the better of you, hold fast to His word, and know that His timing is far better than OUR timing! Be committed to see what He has in store for you, even if your understanding is limited….

“Waiting in the pasture and tending sheep are difficult when we feel God has called us to something different. Many of us Jesus girls are doers, created with a nature to fix, nurture, and make things happen. Therefore, we don’t easily accept an assignment to hang out in our pastures and do the same old things when new things need to be done. And some of us Jesus girls are more cautious, created with timid hearts that seek confirmation.” – Wendy Pope

Are you envious of others or what they have? I think for some, time to time, that can be normal, we’re human after all! Listen up friend,  God doesn’t want us to want what others have, he wants us to be BLESSED or feel BLESSED with what HE has GRACED us with!

Do you think God tests you? Do you think he puts people in your path that have what you want? The car? The wedding? The job? The spouse? The body? The abilities? The gifts? Anything you can think of…. so many ways that God can see if we’re hiding behind what we call our pride…. jealousy and selfishness! So if we to say “I’m so happy for you” or “I’m so proud of you” do you think that’s us passing the test? Hmmm, something to ponder, don’t you think? Learning to be gracious with what we have!!! Appreciate what God has done for us!

God wants us to make Him our number one priority, not personal belongs, a certain look, etc. Him!

“God wants us to prosper in every way. He wants people to see His goodness and how well He takes care of us. But we must desire God more than we desire His blessings.” – Joyce Meyer

Sin leads to relational distance… the more your sinning, the more your separating yourself from other loved ones and or Christians!   No matter perfect and imperfect people, there will always be conflict.  There is no such thing as perfection in marriage, marriage takes a lot of work and it has to come from both sides of the table! People are going to hurt you, lie to you and take advantage of you, eventually. This world is broken because of Sin, sinful nature, selfishness and conceit.

The fifth sin is financial and vocational…. Gods principals to spending money are clear, you don’t spend what you don’t have… so taking large loans you can’t pay back or having many credit cards, that doesn’t add up to Gods logic! It’s a clear indicator or potential demise and destruction of your finances and potentially leading you to work more and less time for God and making less time of making God your own and only and more about making money your idol… don’t fall prey to this trap, a TRAP that will lead you to no where! Unhappiness…. more money isn’t going to change things nor will it make you happy! Find happiness in God and He will make delight in the world around you and give you what you NEED

“People don’t treat each other kindly. People misuse each other. People abuse each other. People lie to each other. People fake each other out. People are phony in their relationships. People wear masks; they cover up; they abuse; they take advantage of each other.” Why do we do this? Because nothing works on this planet because of sin. When we don’t follow God’s will, it causes damage.” – Rick Warren
