How can I make the most of my life? Part 2Luke 10:25-37

Life is full of difficult questions…. we are not here to satisfy our own desires. We are here for Gods purpose.
Big idea: we fulfill our purpose when we
Reflect Christ … Impact Lives… on a journey of compassion.

I commit to DOING

I have got to make a decision, walk in obedience for His purpose. We fulfill our lives purpose by doing. You become a child of God by believing and accepting Christ as your savior. Feeling and having emotions for Christ is great, but if you’re not doing for Christ, that isn’t fulfilling the purpose for Christ! Who you are in Jesus is not a private affair! Jesus didn’t save us so that our relationship with Jesus could be private, he saved us so we could share this with others and bring others to Christ! Love is never stationary, it has feet, it has hands, if it’s love it’s going to do and it’s going to love!

I ask BETTER QUESTIONS
At times we aren’t in the right frame of heart and mind…. vs 29 “and who is my neighbor?”

We are quick to justify ourselves, weather active or inactive, good or bad for Christ. Don’t ask who is deserving, instead, ask “How can I be a loving neighbor?” When we start asking a question such as above, we’re already in the wrong. What life choices have you made to get where you’re at? We’re all human, our job as a Christian is to make an impact for CHRIST and to REFLECT Christ! We should be asking, “How can I love you, how can I help you?” We are not to help in making someone feel guilty!

I serve others SACRIFICIALLY
Counting the cost and determining how I can assist them! What can we expect to sacrifice for others to bring them to where we’re at! I enlist sacrifice personal comfort. We have all been guilty to pass by and try to feel comfortable in someone’s else time of need…. that is NOT what we’re here for! We’re not here to be comfortable! We are to be UNCOMFORTABLE! If we are in comfort, chances are we aren’t being obedient. When you shine the light, darkness will not like this. Cultural expectations and reputation … it doesn’t make sense to people to give and do as you’re told when you don’t have it. Doesn’t make sense to many people that we are obedient…. be messy! Be obedient!

You may be the only one doing the right thing in your household/area. No matter one or many, it’s your job to be obedient.

You may be called to sacrifice time, resources and cost! We live in a broken world…. is my faith costing me something? Am I committed to doing?
1) Are you committed by doing?

2) Are you asking the right questions?
3) Are you serving others sacrificially?
“And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.””
