#Struggles

Seasons, reasons and times.…  I’m sure many of us had moments we have had plenty and some we have had seemingly nothing other than major necessity items… who hasn’t had to scrounge to get the medication they need, a few groceries, etc; if you haven’t, you’re a part of the blessed few… but couldn’t that be an issue too, having too much of something? Really, our expectation is that it will always be there, we’ll always have it, no worries there, right? Wrong! What about an unexpected event that comes your way, what then, who are you going to call?

If you want my opinion, God! He can turn a mess into a message and make your days seem better than when you had everything you wanted…. but was it what you really “wanted?”  Maybe we long for someone else’s life, or just heal us of what another or their family…. and it’s ok to feel semi-jealous, but only momentarily… after that, get up and tell God, “thank you for blessing me!”

“When Paul was in a prison in Rome, he wrote about his experiences and what he had learned. He basically said, “I’ve gone without the things that I need before. But I’ve also had times when I had more than enough. Life happens in seasons. I’ve had good seasons where everything was going well, and I’ve had hard ones where nothing went my way. But through them all, I’ve learned that there’s one secret to being content: I can do anything and everything—not by my own power—but through Christ. Jesus gives me the strength to handle anything that comes my way.”” – Unknown (devotional)

Gentleness

“Gentleness is powerful but soft. God shows us gentleness through His love and mercy. When we share gentleness with others, they can see God in us. Discussion Point: How do mothers and/or fathers show gentleness to their children?” – Unknown (devotional)

Gentleness can be understanding, love, affection, a hug, a gesture to just say “I am thinking of you.” So much these days we are so selfish and self-concerned with our own agendas we don’t take notice that a child has a need until it’s too late and or their behavior is affected …. showing gentleness is being able to show ATTENTION

Trademark

“The trademark of a true Christian is the ability to adapt to others. Will you unselfishly adapt to someone else today?  Prayer Starter: God, show me daily how to lovingly adapt to others. I don’t want to be a selfish person, so I choose to be unselfish and adaptable, loving others as a true Christian.” – Joyce Meyer

Being a Christian has its moments… I have heard people don’t like to go to church because so many are hypocrites, yes, I have witnessed this myself. But all in all, we have one thing to remember, no matter how a person behaves at church, we’re all sinners, we’re all broken and if they can’t say this and own it, that’s between them and God! We belong to church for a reason, because we have a purpose and we have some healing to do, daily even, to continue this process of being ready. A person may be ready, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to stop devoting your time to the Word of God! Quite the opposite…

In my reading, two types of personalities…. one person that knows they are broken and need to repent and continue to ask forgiveness and seek community, and the other, selfish, feels justified and basically scoffs at people and brushes people off because by golly, this Christian right here is better than you….

What type of Christian are you?

I pray that I don’t appear to be the second one, but if I am, I am sorry, deeply sorry! I am a work in progress …
