All you need is FAITH

Devotional 2/19

Learn to Trust God’s Plan for You

Is there a problem to being independent? Too independent? Feel like you simply can’t relay on anyone else or because you haven’t in a long while or maybe you rely too heavily on someone else and not on God. I think we have been there far too often … I speak for myself when I say I have been on both sides and have to conquer that daily to understand each and everyday of my life isn’t MY LIFE

So what can we do? Who do we go to? Friend? Husband? Parent? Close… our one true Father in heaven! God! He will meet our every need! We don’t have to rely on ourself or anyone else so heavily or even understand everything that happened, just knwktnjng who has control of our life!

“Now trust won’t just magically happen. Trust grows as we take steps of faith and experience God’s faithfulness. You have to tell your doubt, your fear, your insecurity, or maybe even your fierce independence to make way for a life of trusting in God. When you do that, you won’t have to struggle so much to make your life work. So even when it doesn’t make sense, trust Him, and experience His freedom and rest.” – Joyce Meyer

Life isn’t always going to be easy or understandable! We listen! Pray! Lean on Him and know who holds your future day in and day out!

Grow Tall  2/19/17

Grow tall
Matthew 5:14-16

Our life is NOT defined by what happens to us! Your walk in public with Christ is only as strong as it is in private. As roots protect us, we must also branch out…
Big idea: to fulfill Gods purpose for my life in this church, I must grow TALL spiritually through daily reflection and unashamed action.

Identify WHO YOU ARE (14)

We should be a reflection of Christ. As children of Christ, we are a reflective light, a tall light and we don’t do anything to have it, it s there, waiting for us to illuminate it to the person who needs it most. We are to bear witness! “Cities on a hill are to be seen.” Stand on a hill and be seen, let others see your light. Daily reflect: we are a light for others to see so others can come and find us and find rest! Don’t lose track of our mission! Reflect on his word, His song, serving others, being on mission! Music is powerful! The song can change you weather you see it or not… focus on the words because it can and will fold deep into your soul!
Influence THE WORLD AROUND YOU (15-16)
Song: This little light of mine… “hiding a bushel” – hide or steal someone talent (Matthew 5) don’t hide Christ’s accomplishments…. don’t dismiss what He has, is and will do! Where has God placed your lamp? He has placed you for maximum illumination! We don’t always see it, but there is purpose! Job, city, season, reason and timing! To hide our lamp would be against our DNA as a Christian! Would you agree? People should notice you…. if you were removed. Would people notice? Would people be upset? Would people fight to have you stick around?
When you do something… outward focus? Is this going to leave an impact on the city? On the neighborhood? We grow tall by putting our faith into action. Accrational evangelism…. we don’t need a prize to be attracted to come to God. Be on your game everyday to see what’s important and what’s not…. Are my good works attracted people to God!
When you see someone, you might only see their branches, unless you get to know someone personally, you may not see their root system!
Is your life attractive? Full of love and compassion? Change a persons vision of Christian… humble, asking forgiveness, knock down walls, giving love and not hate…. love and serve people. It’s. It about you! It’s about others!
Reminder for this week my friends….

1. KNOW that you are a direct reflection of Gods light to this world

2. LIVE in a way that attracts people to His light

3. SHARE His light always
You have got to spend time with God on a daily basis…. 5 min a day a least as a start… see what it does for you!

“”You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

– ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:14-16‬‬

Devotional 2/18

Experience a new beginning

“Choose to think according to God’s Word, not how you feel. Receive His love and experience a new beginning. Life will become so much sweeter if you live with an attitude that says “God is completely changing me from the inside out. He’s giving me a new beginning and there are greater things ahead.”” – Joyce Meyer

Short and sweet for today friends… accept Him and have faith…. everything will fall into place!

If I can pray for you, please let me know!

Devotional 2/17

Give him your ashes

Our mistakes are apart of our past, but they make US! We are Gods children, we are represented by Jesus, loved and accepted! We can ask fifty times for forgiveness and God will continue to do so because He loves us! Don’t fall trap into believing you have to be something greater, you just have to repent and believe in God and that Jesus died for us and for our sins and that He is in control of us and our life!

From dust we became and dust we will go….

“Isaiah 61:3 says He will give us “beauty instead of ashes,” but I find that many people want to hold on to their ashes, the cinders of the past, as reminders of their shortcomings and failures. I encourage you to let go of your ashes and reach for something new. God is full of mercy and long-suffering. His loving-kindness never fails or comes to an end. Jesus came to lift burdens, let them go, and believe He is greater than your mistakes. Give Him your ashes today.” -Joyce Meyer

Devotional 2/16

Trust Him through the process

Do we trust God only for what we need or want or do we really trust Him for what is really going to put us beside Him and in his presence?

It’s a process… and trusting God is apart of what He wants from us!

“Trust Him enough to walk through situations with stability and with a good attitude on a consistent basis. He needed me to learn that He may not always rescue us when we want to get out of circumstances, but He is always with us as we walk through them. God does not always deliver us from everything when we think He should, but He is always with us. Today, instead of focusing on just the end result, realize that God is with you now. He is near to you, so trust Him to walk with you through the process.” – Joyce Meyer

Follow the little promptings

“God wants to bless the people in your life. I encourage you today to keep your heart sensitive to God’s voice. Follow the little promptings. He will speak to your heart and lead you in the way you should go.” -Joyce Meyer
When the spirit tells you a little whisper of something near and dear to someone else’s heart, that spirit will touch you in a way you’re going to understand… so if you feel a tinge of “want” to help, make sure Its the spirit….

If you’re reading this… thanks for stopping by and reading what I have to say! ❤

 🌹 Happy Valentine’s Day! 🌹
Move Past Regret and Make New Choices

Regrets makes it hard to move past and move forward… retreats can make you feel inferior to the world and make you feel less than and or that you’re not worthy!

“If you find yourself regretting some of the unwise choices you have made in the past, don’t be deceived into thinking it is too late to do anything about it. Just start doing what’s right and then stick with it. As you start making better choices, you will come to experience a life in which you enjoy God’s blessings every day.” – Joyce Meyer

Pray! Ask God for guidance and know that you’re covered and accepted, no matter what mistakes you have made!

Devotional 2/13

Choose God’s Standards, Not the World’s

“We need to encourage one another to live by godly standards and resist the pull of the world. A well-known quote offers some good advice: ‘Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.’Make a decision to serve God wholly, putting Him first in everything you do.” – Joyce Meyer

What better way to just be respectful to ourselves and everyone around us than to be God honoring and following his word and his ways!? I can’t think of anything better than following along side God and being one of his teachers, encourages, leaders, and most of all, guarding our own temple!

I have a lot to learn, I can’t say I don’t….

Put God first and the world to the side… man can’t do for you what God can and has done for you!

Devotional 2/12

Gods supernatural favor

“There is a distinction between natural favor and supernatural favor. Natural favor must be earned, but supernatural favor is a gracious gift from God. We should live with the freedom and liberty that comes from living in God’s favor. Regardless of the circumstances that come into your life, believe God for supernatural favor.” – Joyce Meyer

Let God life you up and give you the power you need… let God be in control! Let go!

Read the story of Esther and see what power God have her in the time of her need!

Don’t be afraid to seek God and ask for supernatural power…. ask and you shall receive!

Grow Deeper

“Grow Deeper”

2/12/17

Jeremiah 17:5-18

Our connection doesn’t stop.. we continuously connect with new believers or those that need to find Christ. We must also maintain our connectivity.

Let’s say as far as marriage.. there is courtship, you establish a relationship, you get to know one another, you make a connection and you continue this relationship and go further! You get married, honeymoon, etc, at some point you start to learn or grow into the other person because we’ll never fully learn everything…

With God to continue with Him is to find spiritual growth… We have got to grow in order to continue the journey or purpose that God has for us! We must have a spiritual robust root system.

“If all there is is a connection, with no growth or spiritual leadership, all we are is a social club!” Pastor Mark

Big idea: to fulfill Gods purpose for my life in this church I must grow deep spiritually through DAILY dependence UPON GOD.
Reject MANMADE STRONGHOLDS

Trust flesh beings a curse and yields shallowness

If man set it up, it is not dependable if man is behind this. Spiritual growth (making a root system) is dependent upon God! Trusting in man shows a denial to God! We aren’t dependent on each other, we’re dependent on Christ. Rely on God for spiritual nourishment. If you’re not rooted you’re like a tumbleweed blowing in the wind and you’ll have no way to support yourself, nor will you have access to the ability to stand your ground and take heed to a storm that may be coming in your way! God knows what me coming! He knows everything that will come our way!
Rejoice IN GOD’S PRESENCE

Let your faith grow into reliance

Let God make you thrive

No matter what’s going on, you’re blessed! Our blessing, our enjoyment doesn’t coke from circumstances or from other people, it comes from the Lord! Rejoice daily! Praise Him daily! Don’t believe or trust IN God, rely fully! Know He will do right by you for you and in you! God must be your rock! Make God your rock, he can handle this pressure! No man or child can handle this pressure! Dog down deep, root down, and allow God to do what he will do for you. Drought will happen, but God will prevail!

Your faith isn’t just about you…

1) List the ways you depend upon manmade strongholds and turn from faith in them.

2) Consider the promises and faithfulness to God to redeem and restore you, in spite of you’re sinfulness.

3) Pursue God privately every day, multiple times a day, through Bible reading, prayer, worship, fellowship, and services.
“Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” Like the partridge that gathers a brood that she did not hatch, so is he who gets riches but not by justice; in the midst of his days they will leave him, and at his end he will be a fool. A glorious throne set on high from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be put to shame; those who turn away from you shall be written in the earth, for they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living water. Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise. Behold, they say to me, “Where is the word of the Lord? Let it come!” I have not run away from being your shepherd, nor have I desired the day of sickness. You know what came out of my lips; it was before your face. Be not a terror to me; you are my refuge in the day of disaster. Let those be put to shame who persecute me, but let me not be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed; bring upon them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction!”

– ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:5-18‬‬
